Key to Tricholoma of Quebec

Cap with dark squamules on a pale background. Gills narrow and very crowded. Stipe squamulose, grayish-brownish except whitish base. All parts slowly staining salmon when touched.

Oak woods. Very rare.

All parts white. Cap viscid when fresh. Taste mild or farinaceous. Base of stipe sometimes with blue-green stains.

With oak, beech and birch. Occasionnal.

= T. subresplendens

Very big species. Stipe 15-25 X 3-7 cm. Gills salmon colored in age. Odor rancid.

Mixed woods. Very rare.
