Introduction

The goal of this key is to help to identify the Tricholoma species found in Quebec (Canada). Forty-five species are included in the key. All the characters given in the key are based on our own observations resulting from 15 years of collecting.

How to recognize a Tricholoma (without using a microscope):

• Species fleshy.
• Spore print white.
• Gills notched.
• Context fibrous in stipe.
• Partial veil present or absent.
• Species growing on the ground near trees.
